7th CamTESOL Conference on English Language Teaching
“English for Mobility”
Phnom Penh, Cambodia, 26-27 February 2011

Assistance to Attend

Various CamTESOL donors provide assistance for attendance at the conference. IDP Education underwrites the conference financially and organisationally, and also coordinates the assistance program on behalf of donors who request it.

Assistance to attend is focused on teachers in Cambodia and in the region.

Assistance for Cambodian Teachers

Cambodian teachers in government high schools in the provinces may apply through the relevant Provincial Office of Education for sponsorship to attend the conference. In 2011, there will be at least 100 sponsored places available. These sponsorships are coordinated through the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport. The central point of contact for these sponsorships is the Director of the Teacher Training Department of the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sport.

Assistance for Cambodian Presenters

Cambodian teachers of English are strongly encouraged to present at CamTESOL. A number of Advanced Professional Development workshops are being conducted at IDP prior to the conference to support presentations by Cambodians. Cambodian presenters pay a discounted conference registration rate of USD30. For Cambodians who present Cambodian-based TESOL research and who submit full papers for publication, limited assistance may be provided in 2011 to attend related conferences overseas.
