  • CamTESOL Regional ELT Research Grants Program

    IDP Education is coordinating sponsorship to provide research grants for delegates to the 13th Annual CamTESOL Conference. The grants are to support delegates who wish to pursue research that will be written up and presented at the 14th Annual CamTESOL Conference and then submitted for publication consideration in Language Education in Asia (LEiA).

    Eligibility

      1. General Research Grants  
     
    • Applicants must be nationals or include a national applicant of the following countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, or Vietnam;
    • Applicants must register for and attend the 13th Annual CamTESOL Conference in 2017 on both days, Saturday and Sunday, and CamTESOL-UECA Regional ELT Research Symposium on Friday 17 February 2017.

      2. ASEAN Collaborative Research Grants
     
     
    • Applicants must be ASEAN nationals or include a national applicant from an ASEAN country;
    • Applicants must register for and attend the 13th Annual CamTESOL Conference in 2017 on both days, Saturday and Sunday, and CamTESOL-UECA Regional ELT Research Symposium on Friday 17 February 2017.

    *If you are interested in ASEAN Collaborative Research grants, but you do not have a research partner, please click here. Qualified applicants who have common areas of research interest will be linked for the potential of co-research for greater contribution to ELT practices in ASEAN.

    Criteria for Judging Proposals

    The research proposals will be judged by a specifically-appointed committee on the basis of the following criteria:

    • The relevance of the proposed research to the improvement of the teaching of the English language in the context of developing countries;
    • The potential contribution of the proposed research to the existing literature on the teaching of the English language;
    • The clarity and conciseness of the proposal;
    • The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed methodology;
    • The applicant’s awareness of theoretical framework.
