Since 2005, the CamTESOL conference has attracted an increasing number of research-based presentations. In 2008 the first research-focused training session was held in the lead-up to the conference. This became a half-day workshop formally attached to the conference in 2009. By 2013, there were close to 100 abstracts that were based on research. It was therefore decided to expand the research component of CamTESOL into a regional symposium.
CamTESOL, in partnership with the University English Centres Australia (UECA), conducted the first symposium in 2014. This symposium attracted over 200 delegates, predominantly from ASEAN countries and the Asia-Pacific region. Highlights of this symposium include:

Format of the Symposium

Participation and Registration
The Symposium is a ticketed event priced at USD100. In order to participate in the Regional Research Symposium, participants will need to register for both the Main Conference and the Symposium itself. Please note that delegates who are attending this Symposium should arrive in Phnom Penh on Thursday 16 February or no later than 07.00 on that Friday morning to allow sufficient time to check in to their hotel and to reach the Symposium venue.
