Welcome to the 15th Annual CamTESOL Conference!
The 15th Annual CamTESOL Conference will be held on 16 – 17 February 2019 at the Institute of Technology Cambodia, under the theme ‘Teachers as Learners’.
Cultural Dinner has now become one of the most popular parts of the Annual CamTESOL Conference series where Delegates can take the opportunity to gain exposure to Cambodian cultures and traditions, and unique networking event among national and international individual after a full day at the Main Conference. Also, it is an opportunity for the Delegates to showcase and promote their own cultures since everyone attending is encouraged to wear their traditional clothes.
Every year, the CamTESOL Secretariat and Committees varies the selections of the cultural performances at the Cultural Dinner in order that Delegates are exposed to different aspects of Cambodia cultures from year to year. In 2018, a famous Cambodian cultural dance, named ‘Lakhon Khol’, was chosen to entertain the crowd at the Cultural Dinner. And what dance will be at the 2019 Cultural Dinner?
The Cultural Dinner will be on Saturday, 16 February 2019. End your CamTESOL Saturday night with the varieties of local and international cuisines and great cultural performances, and make your experience at the Conference a remarkable one.




‘Lakhon Khol’ is a masked dance theatre that features enactment of the Reamker, the Khmer version of the Ramayana, and performed by mostly masked male actors. The form is structured as a combination of dance, chanted narration, and mimed gesture, all performed accompanied by pin peat music. ‘Lakhon khol’ was believed to have evolved alongside with royal court dance as they both graced the royal Cambodian court in the past as well as the present, with their spectacular dance repertoires that perform scenes.
